This morning, Atticus completed and then we reviewed the unit 6 readiness assessment which he scored a 96%. Then, Atticus completed the remaining real-world problem-solving questions from the ratio, rates, and conversions unit. Finally, unit 6 'Review What You Know' was assigned. Atticus completed the vocabulary and equivalent rates sections and was assigned decimal computations and equivalent ratios for homework.
Atticus reviewed how mass and substance affect thermal energy transfer. He read about reflectivity/absorbancy, thickness and surface area and how they affect thermal energy transfer. We discussed with examples.
Atticus finished his homework in class this morning. He read an article about Socrates and discovered many interesting facts about the "Great Questioner." He made the connection between the great thinkers and leaders of that time and the influence Socrates had on them.
I worked with Atticus to create diagonal stripes over the body of his fish to create scales. Atticus began painting the first quarter of the background of his painting.
I worked with Atticus to create the second panel of his comic book. I imported an image into Procreate for Atticus and had him complete a draw over of the image.
Continuing our essay writing instruction, Atticus today worked on locating textual support for his thesis statement and then incorporating the support into a second or supporting paragraph. We discussed how Maria ,an adult, sees the cruelty surrounding her but feels unable to act and then located appropriate quotes from the text . We then noted how Bruno ,a child, can not understand the implications of Nazi cruelty and I demonstrated how to use a transition phrase such as "by contrast" to join the supporting textual examples for each character .Atticus then completed drafting a second paragraph and began work on a third supporting paragraph .
Atticus finished his figure drawing using the wooden models and then learned how to properly hang his art when it's on paper. We then went out and worked on painting a section of his character in the mural.
