Atticus and I reviewed the lab from yesterday which explored how different materials conduct heat differently. He answered the follow up questions. He read a passage showing the data from an experiment on how mass affects the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of a substance. He organized it into a table, observed the pattern and calculated a ratio.
Atticus read and discussed the "Golden Age" of Greece. He discussed such topics as the agora, schools, theater, architecture, the Peloponnesian War, and famous Greeks.

In today's group Social Studies session, the boys watched a video on the Trojan Wars. For our final exam on the novel,Atticus is working on a literary essay addressing societal responses to evil in the context of "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas." We reviewed the outline we prepared yesterday , and I then provided instruction on what to include in the introduction including the novel's name, author ,and genre, an introduction to the characters who will be discussed, and a thesis statement. With some assistance, Atticus drafted a good first draft of an introduction paragraph per our class instruction. We will continue tomorrow by drafting a second paragraph that incorporates textual support for the thesis.
