Atticus and I reviewed last night's homework questions on comparing ratios and graphing ratios. Then, he practiced converting customary units of measurement from the lesson's practice and problem-solving as well as completed an online IXL practice on converting customary units using proportions. Atticus finished with the lesson's quick quiz, scoring 95%. For homework, he was assigned unit review questions on understanding rates and unit rates and comparing unit rates.
Continuing our literary glossary, we today addressed situational irony and mood. After reviewing the term dramatic irony, I defined situational irony. Atticus then located and discussed an example of situational irony from today's reading assignment and further explained why the situation was ironic. We also explored Bruno's blind ignorance as representative of societal tendencies to refuse to acknowledge unpleasant truths. After I defined mood , we studied a passage from the text ,identified the mood ,and underlined words that created the mood. Last, Atticus took a spelling quiz based on all three spelling rules we have been studying: the doubling rule, dropping the silent "e" and dropping the "y" before adding a suffix.

Atticus interpreted a heating curve and noticed the pattern of melting and boiling points. He noticed that the temperature doesn't change the the potential energy increases during the melting and boiling points of substances, and boiling takes more energy and time. He answered the follow up questions. He filled in a table using a data plot.
Atticus worked on finishing what we started last class with the coral. We then started to render the buildings in the composition by adding in the windows and shadows.
Atticus and I worked on his Master Painting remake. He worked on painting all the coral, sea creatures and rocks. I helped him outline each object and he worked to paint them. Then he worked to add shadows and we went over where the shadows would be on if the sun is coming from above.
This morning, we reviewed and corrected questions from Monday's skills review homework and last night's homework was completed. Then, Atticus and I continued the lesson on converting customary units and he used dimensional analysis to convert measures from the lesson's real-world practice and problem-solving questions. Finally, Atticus completed a correlating online IXL lesson on converting customary units. For homework, review questions on comparing ratios and graphing ratios were assigned.
