Atticus worked on putting the arches into his interior space. He wanted to make an aquarium, so we added the wall panels and arches on the ceiling. We then worked using the fill tool to add color to each panel. He then chose a few sea creatures to put into the water. I did a demonstration on how to upload photos to Procreate to use as a reference and how to hide them when you're done using them and he finished class by adding all his reference images to his Procreate document.

Today's lesson focused on the Sumerians. Atticus reviewed material that detailed the contributions of the first established community in ancient society. Atticus participated in class discussions.

This morning, Atticus and I reviewed the lesson's 'Review What You Know' opener as well as the warm-up questions from yesterday. He is still rushing and not showing his work resulting in many careless mistakes on known skills. Our lesson introduced exponents and how they are written and evaluated. The lesson's vocabulary was reviewed and practice problems were completed on evaluating exponents and evaluating expressions with exponents. For homework, Atticus is to complete and return the unit 1 and 2 cumulative review.

Atticus participated in a fun, competitive, and interactive game of ladder toss with his teacher while focusing on throwing technique, strength, and accuracy. Math skills were incorporated into the activity. Next, he partook in a jump rope activity and was able to complete his goal of 20 consecutive jumps. The period concluded with a review of the class.

Today's lesson focused on current events. Atticus reviewed video clips about exciting topics and events around the world.

Atticus completed the following assignment: read chapter 16 of The Giver and answer study guide questions 7-10.

Today, we began class with some brain warm-ups. We then continued working on our 6 Characteristics of Living Things Book Project/Presentation.
