9-2 Solving Quadratic Equations by Factoring – We learned that in the standard form of a quadratic equation the factors of the equation determine the solutions. Then we learned the Zero-Product Property and factoring to find the solutions of a quadratic equation. Next we learned to apply factoring to solve real-world problems. Then we used the zeros of a quadratic equation to sketch a graph. Next we learned to write the factored form of a quadratic function from the graph.

HW last night was to ask his grandparents about this poster, but he said he forgot to do it. So we looked into it today and discovered some interesting history. The Matthews family is an American political family traced back to 1757 in colonial Virginia and active in Virginia and the American South in the 18th–20th centuries. Several members played a role in the American Revolution, and numerous members were elected to the Virginia General Assembly over successive generations, while other members were involved in the politics of West Virginia, Georgia, and other southern U.S. states. Members have served in the U.S. military as generals, colonels, and other officers. We couldn't find specific information about the Matthews couple in the poster. Cameron said he will try to remember to ask his grandparents about them.
