The Holocaust: Antisemitism and Genocide in Nazi Germany
Lesson Outline
Today's lesson was about the Holocaust which began with Kristallnacht, also known as the "Night of Broken Glass" in 1938. Afterward, German Jewish people were denied the opportunity to work and own property, were imprisoned, confined to ghettos, and sent to death camps. Hitler called this strategy "The Final Solution" with the intention of eliminating all Jewish people from Europe. In addition to antisemitism, Hitler called for genocide on other minority groups, such as the Roma, people with disabilities, Communists, and other political rivals. People were imprisoned, used for medical experiments, and systematically murdered.
8-5 Linear, Exponential, and Quadratic Models – We learned to determine which model: linear, exponential, or quadratic would best fit a set of data. Then we used fitted functions to solve problems in the context of data.
Review of concepts related to coming-of-age texts; Fahrenheit 451 (pages 1-15); discussion/comprehension questions; add information about characters to study guide; introduce characterization tracker and add information
8-4 Modeling with Quadratic Functions – We used quadratic functions fitted to data to model real-world situations. Then we learned to use the vertical motion model to write an equation. Next we compared a model to a data set by analyzing and evaluating residuals.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework.
Sports Business (the business side of sports) initial lesson born out of Cameron's recent experience with some sort of 'YouTube guy'. Cameron and friend Charlie were videotaped golfing. While it was "fun" for Cam, I asked about the "WHY"? Why would this man pick two teenage boys to shoot video of? Random? No, two teenage sons of PGA Celebrities. Cameron and his friend were not paid (Lesson: Name, Image, Likeness) but the video guy didn't explain his intentions, motivations or long term revenue stream of potential future golf greats together as teens. (Red Flag!) Also introduced the NCAA impact of dealing with guy if an agent.

Lesson Comments
Sports Business was always intended to be part of the sports broadcasting lesson plan but his personal circumstances of the week dictated the lesson. I opened his eyes to the business side of sports and Camerons need to start being on super heightened awareness of people trying to capitalize on his name and future. I have the very unique experience to see this for what it is. I could be hyper proactive.....but better than being too late.
TV Script Writing: Sport Feature Wrap Up & 1st On Camera Stand Ups
Lesson Outline
Cameron truly excels in-person and we have two hours today as I am pinch-hitting for absent teachers for two classes. In the first session today Cameron completed the Script Writing for his Sports Feature Story: "All Access Caddy". Very cool story with insights uniquely his from this great opportunity. The 2nd session was Cameron's 1st chance to be Reporter like in action by writing his stand ups (Reporters On-Camera) and recording them 'in the field' /outside as if in real time @ PGA Event. Cameron's poise, presence and his ability to be coached is tremendous. When I insisted he have fun with this feature, even to the point of kidding his Dad in the Press Tent (because as his son & caddy he could ask questions no other media person could--or have the courage to ask) This resulted in a truly unique feature story and with angle like no other. Excellent work Cameron!
