Today we discussed how Hitler and the Nazi movement began as a small, fringe, radical group in Germany after WWI. Most people in Germany didn’t take them seriously as there was a new, democratic government in Germany called the Weimar Republic. Hitler actually tried to overthrow the Weimar Republic in 1923 and was sent to jail for a short time. During his time in prison, he wrote a book called “Mein Kampf” in which he blamed Germany’s problems on its Jewish citizens. By 1933, Hitler was elected Chancellor of Germany. He quickly dismantled Germany’s democracy. WWII is declared when Hitler’s forces invade Poland in 1939.

Today Cameron worked on writing his presentation of Hakeem Olajuwan for our program at the end of the month.

8-3 Quadratic Functions in Standard Form – We learned to graph functions in standard form and show intercepts, maxima, and minima. Then we learned to determine how the values of A, B, and C affect the graph of f(x) = ax2 + bx + c. Next we compared the properties of quadratic functions presented in different forms (algebraically, in a table, graphically).

Today he added new verbs to his list of Spanish verbs. Then, we began to study emotions, and how they are written and pronounced in Spanish. In the end, we watched a video about the different customs for Valentine's Day in Spain.
