In today's class, we finished our discussion on photosynthesis, including watching a video on the Calvin cycle. Cameron then worked on an activity that covered what he learned on photosynthesis. This activity included a guided reading passage along with questions related to the passage.
Cameron worked online and independently. He logged in to Vocabulary.com and completed two rounds of 'Thanksgiving: Eat Your Words!' practice list. We then collaboratively read, 'When Giving Is All That We Have," by Alberto Rios. Cameron demonstrated good comprehension and synthesis of the material when queried. He is to finish the questions at home and be ready to review his responses in class tomorrow.

European Imperialism: Characteristics, Motives & Effects
Lesson Outline
European imperialism was the five-centuries-long quest by European countries to acquire territory outside of Europe. Europeans sought to have complete political control over these territories and extract their natural, low-cost resources for their own benefit. There were different motivations for imperialism, but scientific exploration was not one of these. Mostly, the motives were economic, political, racial, or religious. Europeans felt that they were racially and morally superior to Africans, Asians, and other Indigenous people and that they had the right to conquer them. Many conflicts arose due to imperialism. One such conflict was called the Great Game, and it involved a struggle between Britain and Russia for control of parts of India, Persia, and Afghanistan.

6-1 Rational Exponents and Properties of Exponents – We learned that radicals can be rewritten using rational exponents. Then we discovered that the properties of exponents can be used to solve equations with rational exponents. We learned to extend the properties of integer exponents to rational exponents to rewrite radical expressions using rational exponents.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
In today's class, we began our introduction into photosynthesis, talking about chlorophyll, chloroplasts and all other accessory pigments that are used in the process. We also talked about the chemical reactions that takes place and the key players in it.
