Carson completed 3-Dimensional Thinking "Construct an explanation on the cause and effect relationship between the ammeter and the movement of the magnet." He completed Collect Evidence C. He completed the lab "Lift It Up" which experimented with increasing the strength of an electric generator. He recorded his data and answered the follow-up questions.
Today was Carson's last day with us. Instead of having a traditional math class, today we worked on puzzles, riddles, and logic. I showed him pictures of multiple squares and asked him to count how many he saw. He realized that multiple squares could be created beyond what its obvious. Next we considered riddles regarding age and probabilities. We also looked at photos that initially you see one way, but when you look at it again with a different perspective you can see something different.
It's been a pleasure working with Carson this year!
Carson completed the lab "Coiled Up" which experimented with generating an electric current by moving a permanent magnet into and out of a wire coil and measuring the current with an ammeter. He recorded his data and answered the follow-up question.
Today we finished the last chapter of the book. After that, he took a final quiz about all the vocabulary he learned during the school year, and I helped him organize his room. He did well today.
Today we continued to discuss and draft the market analysis and product description elements of a business plan. With respect to the market analysis ,I discussed how the rise in the popularity of pickle ball ,mostly by older people. will contribute to the size of the market as Carson's product can be used by both tennis players and pickle ball players. After we discussed how to address possible market competition, Carson completed drafting his market analysis and product description. While we will work on word choice and rewrites later in the week ,today we began editing the product description portion of the plan.
Today he completed activities 2.2 and 2.3 on pages 56 and 57 of the book. He read about the emotions Pablo felt when he was young, this activity helped him to review verbs in the past tense and emotions. After that, he wrote a paragraph about a tennis tournament when he was 8 years old, and all the emotions he felt that day.
