Carson was given a word problem, and from the one fact he was given, he had to make a case for how tall someone was from the known fact of how tall someone else was. He had to present his conclusion with sound reasoning.
Carson read lesson 3 in the textbook about the US in the late 20th Century. We discussed Presidents Carter, Reagan, and Bush. Carson also did an in-class assignment on the Olympics boycott of 1980.
Carson completed the lab "Electromagnet Challenge" which experimented with making an electromagnet and changing its strength. He recorded his data and answered the follow-up questions. He completed 3-Dimensional Thinking on page 246.
Carson read about the three ways to increase the magnetic field strength around an electromagnet: increase the number of coils, decrease distance from the coils, and increase voltage through the coils. He read about how to create an electromagnet and analyzed the step-by-step diagram. He diagrammed the three ways to increase electromagnet field strength in the 3-Dimensional Thinking on page 242. He completed Collect Evidence A.
