We started a unit on the topic of the Environment. Today we broadly talked about the different aspects, such as water usage, meat consumption and cars. We focused particularly on the different roles cars play in Germany compared to the US as well as the availability of alternative means of transportation.

We completed the unit on personality traits and the comparison between being introvert and extrovert by talking and writing about our own evaluation, whether we have always been that way and whether we prefer being with introvert or extrovert people.

After some conversation practice, we continued working on the exercises relating to the Easy German video ´Introvert vs. Extrovert´. Today we focused on the B1-level word order exercises .

Today we continued working on the exercises relating to the Easy German video on the topic ´Introvert vs. Extrovert´ and focused on a series on comprehension questions.

After talking about the past weekend, Joshua worked on the B1-level vocabulary exercises relating to the Easy German video on the topic ´Introvert vs. Extrovert´. This exercise also allowed us to review some structures, and we identified the meaning of unfamiliar words by looking at word families.

After a conversation about the current state of his college applications and his plans for this weekend, we watched the Easy German video on the topic of being and introvert vs. an extrovert. We frequently interrupted the video to comment on the statements given by people in it. I will add the related exercises to our shared file, so that Joshua can start working on them.

Joshua is doing very well expressing himself orally and in writing.

After a brief conversation about general topics, we continued working with the vocabulary about our personalities. We added a few more sentences and discussed how these traits manifest themselves .

After some conversation practice, we worked with the vocabulary we studied and practiced last week, and Joshua formulated sentences in which he described his personality and gave examples.

We started out talking about the upcoming weekend and other general matters and we briefly described how we were feeling that day, using the emotion vocabulary from last week.

I gave Joshua a list of common character traits which we translated and added familiar words from the same word family for easier recall. I asked him to write a paragraph about his dominant character traits.

We started out talking about his current university options and preferences and about in the Northern US that have a larger German population.

We finished the lesson on emotions. Joshua wrote sentences about when he feels certain emotions, which allowed him to practice formulating dependent clauses that change the word order.

He showed confidence in his spoken and written expression.
