Jackson and I spent period 3 discussing how and where he can and may be using Spanish in practical ways in the future. Period 5 involved discussions with Nicole about graduation requirements and we discussed what it takes to be ready for training in Spanish.
We revisited the Ch 3 vocabulary that we reviewed yesterday. Jackson had to draw a house and then the items as I called them in Spanish from memory and label the items in correctly spelled Spanish.
Today, Jackson started on the new Chapter 3 and its associated vocab. We did some association, memorization and prior knowledge activation work to absorb and process this vocab and then some practice exercises. Yellow week break at start of our second session (Period 5).

Culture read/discuss- Argentina; end of chapter final review
Lesson Outline
Jackson read and discussed the Panorama reading on Argentina's data and culture. Then, I had him work on an overall review of what we studied in Chapter 2 in an online end of chapter check. He showed mastery on nearly all with a little confusion still on informal commands.
Car vocab; revisiting possessive pronouns; listening practice & Peru culture
Lesson Outline
To start today's class, Jackson had a few minutes to review key vocab about the car and driving and then we did an oral check on his memorization. Then we revisited last week's lesson 2.4 on possessive pronouns, and I explained the special rule of adding indefinite article with poss. pronoun when any other verb is used besides ser. Jackson did written, computer and audio practice exercises on this lesson. Then, to conclude the lesson, he did several audio clips on different genres, and watched long video on how technology has connected remote areas of Peru. We looked up Machu Pichu and the Nazca lines and Cuzco to situate the video culturally.
Today's class started with vocab check/exposure on vehicle & driving-related vocabulary (Ch 2); we then went back to yesterday's lesson on reciprocal reflexives and flushed out the rest of the topic. Since it is easy and Jackson quickly picked it up, I introduced him to the finnal grammar topic in Ch 2: possessive pronouns by re-visiting possessive adjectives. We will continue the topic next week.
