Lastly, Liam completed Lesson 6.5 Apply Properties and the Distributive Property - use properties when multiplying to find the area of squares and rectangles - completing guided practice, independent practice, and problem-solving problems.

Lian reviewed his spelling words and looked up their definitions. He wrote a sentence for each spelling word. He will have a spelling test on Friday. He reviewed his new vocabulary words and their definitions and read a story that used all these words in context. The story was about the Mojave Desert. We located the desert on the globe and determined that it was located in 4 states in the United States. He also discovered that the Colorado River flowed through the desert. He learned about the conditions of the desert and how animals have to adapt to live there. He completed a word study activity on words that have silent consonants.
