Jase worked on his project on Procreate that he started last class. He worked on completing his piece using tools he learned this year such as layers, fill tool, and snapping.
Jase completed a warm-up activity - reviewing fourth-grade skills. Jase had difficulty with place value, area, and measurements. Lastly, Jase began working on Lesson 1.6 Round Decimals - rounding decimals to different places - completing guided practice problems and starting on independent practice problems. Jase will complete independent practice problems and problem-solving problems on Wednesday (if allotted time).
Jase reviewed the components of a paragraph. He wrote his own topic sentence and three reasons to support his topic sentence. He learned about linking verbs, identified them, the sentence subject and its linked adjective in a sentence. He practiced silent consonants. He chose the correct word to fill-in-the-blank and circled the silent letter.
Jase and I worked on more gradient practice. We focused on using the ruler and using controlled motions to make lines and shading. He then worked on blending using the blending stump.
Jase and I began our session with reviewing homework. Jase received a 7/8 on comparing decimals. Jase then completed a warm-up activity - reviewing fourth-grade skills. Jase had difficulty with equivalent fractions and identifying parallel lines. Lastly, Jase completed Lesson 1.5 Compare Decimals - comparing decimals to the thousandths - completing guided practice, independent practice, and problem-solving problems.
Jase reviewed silent consonants. He completed an activity reading words, circling the silent consonant pair, and locating another word with the same silent consonant pair. He worked on staying on topic in writing. He read a paragraph, underlined the topic sentence, crossed out the sentence that is not on topic, and wrote down details of the paragraph that do support the topic sentence.
