Jase completed a warm-up activity focusing on fifth-grade math skills. Jase had difficulty with multiplication/division, area, and probability. Jase then completed Lesson 1.4 Understand Decimal Place Value - completing problem-solving problems. Lastly, Jase completed Lesson 1.4 Quick Check - receiving 2/5. We will continue practicing with Lesson 1.4 - understanding decimal place value throughout this week.

Lesson Outline
Jase completed a warm-up activity. Jase had difficulty with division, greater than/less than, and perimeter. I then introduced Lesson 1.4 Understand Decimal Place Value with a 'visual learning' video. Jase completed guided practice and independent practice problems - reading and writing decimals in different ways. During our next session, Jase will complete problem-solving problems on Lesson 1.4.
Jase practiced analyzing three-syllable words, breaking them into syllables, and identifying open, closed, and silent e-syllable types. We continued reading ‘Trapped in a Video Game’ with our main focus on reading accurately. Jase also worked to recognize his errors and make self-corrections where necessary.
Object Pronouns / Main Idea and Details / Consonant Digraph

Jase learned about consonant digraphs today. He learned about and completed an exercise on the digraphs sh and ch. He read a paragraph and found the topic sentence and details. He wrote 5 sentences using 5 different object pronouns.
Jase and I began our session with Lesson 1.3 Additional Practice. Jase did wonderfully. We will begin Lesson 1.4 during our next session. Lastly, Jase practiced multiplication facts with the game Jenga.

I was a substitute for Mr. Shihan from 11:15-12:00. We continued with our math lesson.
Jase completed a warm-up activity focusing on fifth-grade math skills. Jase had difficulty with division, converting decimals to fractions, and angles. Jase then completed Lesson 1.3 Decimals to Thousandths - Quick Check activity - receiving an 80%. Lastly, Jase completed a self-assessment for Lesson 1.3 Decimals to Thousandths - assessing himself on a math goal - I can read and write decimals to thousandths (assessed himself at 'I got it') and language goal - I can read and write decimals and fractions (assessed himself at 'Working on it').
We began our session previewing the book Jase brought from home for us to read. He summarized the first two chapters, and we continued reading from chapter 3. During reading, our focus was on accuracy, working to help Jase monitor his reading for errors and omissions. After reading, we pulled words from context to analyze.
Jase completed three hard and soft g and c exercises. He completed a word search puzzle with hard and soft g and c words. We reviewed object pronouns. He completed an object pronoun exercise.
