Jase and I began our session with a warm-up activity - focusing on fifth-grade skills. Jase had difficulty with division, fractions, parallel lines, and probability. Jase learned about object pronouns. He completed an activity where he read a paragraph, circled the incorrect use of object pronouns, and replaced them with the correct ones. He identified the main idea and details for a paragraph. He created his own topic sentence for a paragraph. He practiced identifying hard and soft g and c, and s sounds in questions.

Jase then wrote down vocabulary in his math journal - value and expanded form. Lastly, Jase completed Lesson 1.2 Understand Whole Number Place Value - completing guided practice and independent practice problems. During our next session, Jase will complete problem-solving problems for Lesson 1.2. Jase did excellently with writing numbers in standard form.
