PJ returned from a Mother's Day weekend trip to Orlando. He continued his Blue’s Clues x HP Lovecraft crossover project, sketching a horror-style logo on paper using the “scariest font possible.” I showed fashion images from Kazakhstan Fashion Week for visual inspiration.
Topic 8 Solve Problems Involving Surface Area and Volume
Lesson Outline
Topic 8-4 Find Volume of Spheres – We learned that the volumes of the sphere and cone are proportionally related. The volume of a sphere is twice the volume of a cone that has the same circular base and height. The formula for the volume of a sphere is V = (4/3) pi r3 where r is the radius of the sphere.
PJ and I spent the period talking about his summer plans and his future endeavors.
At the end of the period, PJ had to make one more visit to the chicks.
Continue to work on the plot of the story. Define the beginning, middle and end. Discuss what the problem/s and solution/s are and how they will fit into the story.
PJ and I discussed current events - he was excited that this is the first time a pope from America was elected! We also noted tht Trump's approval rating went up. I also gave PJ an activity sheet in which he had to identify and correct incorrect spellling in a paragraph; prompts facilitated his attention to the task at hand. He has a few more sentences to complete that he may finish next week.
PJ started the class by jogging 6 laps on the perimeter of the field.
We came back to the pavilion and did a dumbbell workout.
We finished with a complete body stretch and cool down.
