We covered basic guitar technique - holding the guitar, fretting notes and chords, and strumming. We covered basic music theory, standard musical notation, reading guitar tablature, and note locations on the guitar neck. We coverd playing the G major scale, playing chords in the key of G (G, Cadd9, D, and Em), and using the scale to play the melody to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Lesson Outline
We continued working on the G minor pentatonic scale, and looked at how the basic position for the scale was portable to any key with its root note based on any fret on the E string. We went back to the solo to Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain, and discussed the music theory behind the melody. We saw that it was actually played inside the pentatonic scale shape for the key of E.
