We continued working on forming and moving barre chords. We also worked on playing the lead intro to I'm Yours while simultaneously playing the rhythm part. We began working on a technique called combined picking, where the melody part is plucked with the back 3 fingers while the thumb and forefinger hold the pick and strum as usual.
Today we looked at different tunings for the guitar. We worked in the tuning drop D and discussed how to easily build chords and progression in the key of D.
We focused on playing six string E form and Em barre chords, and moving them up and down the neck of the guitar. We also briefly discussed five string A and Am form barre chords, and four string D form barre chords. These will be good for opening up playing songs in keys other than G major, as well as for strengthening the hands.

Today we worked on a Queen, and Nirvana song. We read the taps and talked about how to begin looking ahead in the song. Max enjoyed each song and was able to play the prompted melody.
We continued working on Everything Has Changed. We played through the entire song, and Baylie did an outstanding job playing it. We then began working on barre chord technique and placement. We focused on 6 string major and minor barre chords around the 7th fret, which creates the B and Bm barre chords.

We continued working on Everything Has Changed. We corrected our chord chart to include an omitted Em chord during the pre-chorus. We continued working on the strum pattern, and played through the entire song. We also addressed drop tuning the guitar to play first position chords while playing in the same key as the original recording. We tuned the entire guitar down 1/2 step as opposed to playing with a capo and having to use barre chords.
