As we have been addressing how to incorporate fiction into textual evidence for an argumentative essay, today I provided instruction on how to compose a literary essay. First, I reviewed the themes in James' "Daisy Miller" and discussed how one could incorporate these ideas in response to a general AP prompt . I then distributed material on writing a literary essay, and we drafted an introductory paragraph to an essay prompt on the novel. I assisted JP in formulating a general controlling idea, introducing the setting and characters, and last stating a thesis .
Today he completed the assignment: Expresiones diarias. He did a really good job using the correct expression in each paragraph he had to be corrected from the book, pages 35 and 36. After, we reviewed vocabulary.
