Libby did an excellent job following the recipe and measuring out the ingredients for the cinnamon sugar filling. She very much enjoyed the process of spreading the filling onto the dough and rolling it up and was very proud of the final result once they had finished baking.

Libby completed her interactive calendar, read and discussed her vocabulary words, finished her calendar talk, worked on her phonics activities, learned about the colors of the rainbow, and made a wind gauge, an anemometer.
This morning, Libby continued to work on addition within 10. We expanded upon yesterday's practice of using pictures to model addition to using connecting cubes. Libby looked at cube trains constructed of two different colored groups. Then, she counted the amount in each group and chose the addition sentence that matched.
Libby did very well today working online on adding within 10. She counted groups of animals and made addition sentences to match the pictures. Then, she used counting on to find the sums, saying the amount of the larger group and counting forward from that amount. Libby completed two lessons and is excited to do more tomorrow.
Libby completed her interactive calendar activities and changed the calendar from March to April. She read and discussed her vocabulary words. She finished her calendar talk activities. She read, discussed, and completed the graph activity in her Scholastic News magazine. She learned about how a bubble is made.
Today, we worked on counting, reading, and writing the number 18. Libby used base ten cubes to model 18 with one tens stick and 8 ones and colored in pictures of base ten blocks, tens frames, and objects to model 18. She also traced 14 through 18 in number and word form for review. Then, we used flashcards to practice adding to ten to help quickly recognize adding a single digit to 10. Libby finished with plus and minus 1 fast facts.
We listened to some drum cadences and some jazz music.
