Lesson Comments
Libby was late arriving so we didn't have her full time together.
Libby completed the cut-and-paste activity on numbers, number words, and counting objects with the digits 1 through 10 she began last week. She glued numbers, number words, and groups of animals in order and the correct rows onto the template. Then, we worked on 10 frames. Libby matched farm trucks marked with the digits 0 - 5 to their 10 frames filled with the same number of pumpkins and colored pumpkins in 10 frames to match their truck amount. Finally, we used these picture cards to play a game of memory together.
Libby completed her interactive calendar. She read and wrote the months of the year. She checked on her plants and discovered that the plant she had put in the dark actually sprouted, and the one she put in the sunlight did not. This experiment proves that science does not always turn out the way it is supposed to. We planted the beans that sprouted. She watered the corn plants.
Libby used magnetic letters and Twistables to spell CVC words. We sang Old McDonald to practice the vowels. I read a Laura Numeroff book and discussed title, author, and illustrator.
