Will has difficulty in retaining directions for writing or reading homework. I think I will have him do short writing exercises in class to see if that helps Will to learn more.
Today Stephen working on his recycling book. He added terms, definitions, pictures and examples of ways to conserve in his book. On Thursday he will finish his book!
Today Gwendolyn finished the timeline of her life. She did a beautiful job on her project. It was neat, organized and colorful! Gwendolyn and I reviewed lesson 1 and then completed the vocabulary for lesson 2. Gwendolyn will have a short quiz on Friday covering lesson 1.
Marina was introduced to cultures of people from different countries: We observed their dress, foods, music, beliefs, etc. Marina's response showed interest and involvement . Great job Marina
Different Cultures of people: Ethan was introduced to cultures of Asian, Latinas, Indians, and others, types of food, dress, music, dances, beliefs, etc, He did very well.
Branches of the Federal Government: Ethan viewed the three branches of the Federal Government their powers and responsibilities. He did a very good job in his review and showed understanding. Great job Ethan
Bobby and I brainstormed a new project: a Florida travel book. We decided on the topics to include, the organization, and we began researching on the computer, reading and selecting pictures and information. Bobby and I also read several articles of Weird Florida including mineral springs (Fountain of Youth), Coral Castle, etc.
We are also covering typing, internet research, citing sources, and creating Microsoft Word documents on a PC.
Francis Scott Key and his contribution: Marina was introduced to the author of the National Anthem of our country, and the battle that took place in Baltimore. Great lesson Marina

Today Stephen and I began by watching a short clip on Natural resources. Then we completed 3 natural resource worksheets. Stephen had to list man made resources made from given natural resources. We then had to sort these resources into the categories renewable and nonrenewable.
Today Stephen and I continued working on his natural resource unit. Stephen and I read and discussed the difference between renewable and nonrenewable natural resources. We discussed conservation and watched a short Brainpop video on how we conserve natural resources. Stephen set up his conservation book that he will finish next class.
