Finally, Teddy practiced the coin names and their values.

Introduce the wh digraph. Practice decoding words with wh and add short and long vowels as needed. Review the sight words for the week. Do a speed round for Teddy to find as many words on the wall as he can. Read a decodable book.
Teddy completed his interactive calendar, read and discussed his vocabulary words, finished his calendar talk, put together his daily sentence puzzle, worked on his phonics activities, observed the baby chicks, and finished assembling his STEM project.
Teddy began with fast fact checks on adding 1 through 9 and subtracting 1, 2, and 3. Then, he worked on finding 10 more using his hundreds chart. Our lesson focused on applying the part-part whole model to the friends of 10. Teddy filled in the model with each friend of 10 and wrote the 4 corresponding fact family number sentences.
I made up a new game for Libby and Teddy with a ball and the volleyball net.
We are going to call it "Ultimate Ball".
The object of the game is to throw it over the net without your opponent catching the ball.
If they do this successfully, they score a point.
Teddy and I read about how citizens should treat each other. We discussed the pictures of the soccer players shaking hands before a game, a girl pushing her grandmother in a wheelchair, and a girl giving someone flowers. We talked about the golden rule, made a list of ways to follow the golden rule, and he drew a picture of him following the golden rule.
