I read "Hannukah!" As I read, Maya stopped and summarized what was occuring. There were parts that contained humor in the story and she wanted me to show her where the words were so she could go back and re-read them too. Following reading, we made edible dreidels out of marshmellows, hershey kisses, and pretzel sticks. We invited Yanuel and they worked together. Maya did a great job of leading him and showing him how to create them. They went around the school making deliveries to all the teachers and students.
