Introduce the sight words for the week: red, run, and ran. Practice the sort vowel sounds in each word and connect run with ran being a simple letter change. Continue to practice letter recognition with the vowels and with n, u, m, and h. Complete a short e vowel sort sheet for practice. Use the various pictures to reinforce all of the vowel sounds. Read "The Kite" from Days with Frog and Toad, pointing out the sight words and short vowel words.
