Jason completed his interactive calendar. He read and discussed his vocabulary words. He completed his daily sentence puzzles. He discussed plant structures. He completed a reading comprehension activity about bats.
Jason completed an "If I Were President" activity and a "Match the Numbers to complete the Puzzle" activity. We discussed what he would do if he were president. We discussed healthy ways to cope with strong emotions.
Jason and I did a cut and place activity for some of the words that he has been hearing as we discuss Day of the Dead.
These words included things like flower, candle, tombstone, skeleton.
By the end of class Jason was able to hear the words in Spanish and point to the picture of the word.
During the lesson, we cut out the words as we read them aloud. He practiced placing the words on the different pictures.
He was also given some clay and he made a tombstone with the clay. We made a candle together.
We tied this lesson together with past lesson as I asked him in Spanish if he likes the candle or the flower more and I asked him if he likes the skeleton as it was a cartoonish one.
I read some of The Wild Robot to Jason, and we discussed what was happening. He worked on a card for Patti. He played with Play Doh and made his name with the letter cookie cutters.

Lesson Comments
I substituted with Jason since Kaitlin is not meeting with me until she returns next week.
This morning, Jason worked on using mental math and partial sums to add 2-digit numbers to help develop fluency in adding within 100. Together, we solved the lesson's examples and practice problems before Jason completed the odd problems from the independent practice. Finally, Jason worked online recognizing even and odd numbers.
Absent - Jason and I were to do a cut and paste activity with some vocabulary words that he has been hearing during our discussions of Day of the Dead.
