Alexandria listened to a song to learn numbers and colors in Spanish. We also used a 10-Minute Kids Compilation in Spanish, which covered colors, vowels, and numbers in a fun way to reinforce prior learning. Alexandria was cooperative, attentive, and followed directions well.

I subbed for Jordan this morning, Friday, 5-0-2-25, from 11:21-12:06. (Field Day)
We started out by observing the toy chick. Since we have chick eggs in the Science room, we talked about those and what she has seen so far. Then, we read the book "Little Chick's Breakfast". After we finished the book, we discussed the storyline. Next, we created a hatching chick project page. Alexandra did a great job of creating a chick inside the egg as well as coloring the outside of the egg. Lastly, we folded the egg so the chick was inside the egg so it was safe and hidden from the elements.
Alexandra completed her interactive calendar, read her sight words, finished her calendar talk activity, worked on her phonics activities, put together her daily sentence puzzle, had Storytime, and ate her lunch.

Today, Alexandra worked on a number sense activity. She was given a number line numbered 0 through 100 that had been cut into pieces. Alexandra found the piece that began with 0, counted the numbers on that piece, and determined which number came next. Then, she looked for the next group of numbers, which continued until all pieces were in order. Finally, Alexandra and I taped them together to create a long number line and used it to count to 100.
Today, we used clay to encourage imaginative play. Alexandra created many small creatures and eggs for them to live in. Then, her small animals hatched, ate, went to school, came out to play, and returned to their eggs for bed.

This morning, Alexandra worked with a fun online activity on sorting, counting, and comparing. She began by sorting 'Fuzz Bugs' by color and placing them into their corresponding colored jars. Then, the number of bugs in each jar was counted and the amounts compared. Next, Alexandra dragged the jars to place them in order from least to greatest. Finally, she answered positioning and size comparison questions related to a group of bugs.
This morning, Alexandra worked on a dinosaur circle craft. We began by discussing the circle's curved side and real-world objects shaped like a circle. Then, we used a large circle that was folded and divided in half and half again. Alexandra cut out these pieces to make the dinosaur's head and body. Then, the quarter circle was folded to make smaller triangles for the dinosaur's legs and plates. Once the pieces were ready, Alexandra arranged and glued them to create her stegosaurus.
Alexandra completed her interactive calendar, read her sight words, put together her daily sentence puzzle, worked on her phonics activities, organized her puzzle pieces, and had Storytime, a Scholastic News Magazine and video about the glass frog.
