Remington worked hard today on new and review topics.
Remington selected a sneaker to decorate with his favorite things. The first one was a soccer ball. Remington said he did not know how to draw a soccer ball, so I got one of my "how to draw" books. We found a soccer ball. We practiced first on scrap paper and then drew it on the sneaker. He colored it with colored pencil. Then I showed him some little drawing prompt cards that were started and needed to be finished. He completed four of the cards making a dog, a tree, a zombie who was thinking, and another character he likes. He did a great job! He asked if he could work in clay during our next class, and I said he could!
We explored a Nearpod lesson related to drama. Next, we worked on some tongue twisters to warm up our voices. Then, we sang and danced to the "Hokey Pokey" for movement.
I introduced myself to Remi with a Nearpod lesson about me. Then, we moved on to a lesson about types of rocks. We focused on igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. We will continue to learn about these types of rocks throughout the next week.
We discussed community helpers. We watched a Nearpod lesson that focused on community helpers including teachers, doctors, mailmen, barbers, and the like. By the end of the lesson, Remi was able to identify the community helpers by what they can offer.
