Andrew did great on his Assignment and put his unique artistic spin on it.
Today, we activated prior knowledge about valley communities. We reviewed the factors that have contributed to the success of farming in valley communities. Jack contributed to our discussion by summarizing the most important reasons people why people choose to live there. As we moved to Chapter 5, which described how resources and agriculture changed the way people lived and impacted communities, we defined agriculture, wrote and highlighted it on an index card, and added it to our word list. We also examined how agriculture changed the way people lived thousands of years ago by changing from a nomadic lifestyle to one that is sedentary, two words added to our word list. Examples were offered to consolidate gains.
We continued reading Ch. 4 and talked about the states' powers. We also discussed local government and the services provided on the local level. Andrew continued working on Assignment 1 with Google Slides.
Today we continued to talk about Federalism and the different powers that belong to the State governments. Andrew did an assignment looking into compliance in Florida of a certain Act.
We looked more at how states are funded and what obligations they have. We also talked about Andrew's opinion on education grants and how the States should spend their money.
Today, we started to look at Ch. 4 on Federalism. We watched a video describing how Federalism has changed throughout history and discussed how the politicians in power can interpret Federalism differently.
