We started reviewing for a test on section 9–5 Functions by practicing the vertical line test and mapping domains to ranges to determine whether the equation is a function. Then we reviewed Chapter 13 Quadratics by finding the axis of symmetry, vertex, and a table of values in order to graph a quadratic function.
Review 3-4 digit addition and subtraction. Review fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers. Simplify equations. Solve for x.

Lesson Comments
David and I went through several topics today. He has some trouble with subtracting big numbers and sometimes goes up instead of borrowing. He also needs to practice his multiplication facts. We reviewed fractions and dividing to convert a fraction into a decimal. He almost always guesses the decimal instead of solving it out. We also started on solving equations. He rushes through his work.
We reviewed Lessons 8.1 Exponents, 8.2 Product of Powers, 8.3 Quotient of Powers, and 8.4 Zero and Negative Exponents for a test. We practiced simplifying expressions by using the properties we learned from these lessons. Then we completed all of the assigned review homework to prepare for a test.
