This time Cabo was to verbalize the information of his essay. I then wrote the essay. This arrangement was to take the focus off of the physical act of writing and place the effort into the content of the essay.
Cabo worked on a practice essay in preparation for his final exam. He asked good questions regarding the essay and the format of the test.
He wrote an entire 5 paragraph essay in Spanish with notes during class. He was able to write an A or B level paper which bodes well for his coming test.
Cabo was given time to study vocabulary words for his test.
We then reviewed Cabo’s essays so that he will be prepared for the essay portion of his final exam.
Cabo and I then practiced writing the introductory paragraph to one of his essays. As a test taking strategy, we hope to use the introductory paragraphs as a map for our writing during the test that way he does not have to memorize an entire essay.
Bobby and I read Chapter 3 of The Adventures of Isabella.
The chapter lists a set of body parts in its text. We kept track of those body parts by making a drawing and then labeling the drawing as we read aloud.
We then participated in the first portion of a review of the year’s content. We ended our review at the stem-changing and “go” verbs.
Cabo and I discussed the results of his 100 verb pretest.
He did quite well. We will hope to improve his test score through study prior to him taking the actual test.
We then mapped the knowledge that he should possess by the end of the school year and all the many subjects that were covered in the text up to this point.
Out of all of the subjects covered, Cabo identified reflexive verbs and contractions as top topics to review prior to his final exam.
Cabo took a 100 verb pre-test today. He displayed great focus, and he put in wonderful effort.
The test took the entirety of our time. Cabo appeared to do the best with the first of the four sections and then was challenged progressively more and more by each section.
