Review grammar; read new story - El Robot - part 1
Lesson Outline
We began with a review of the 2 verbs "to be" and adjectives. Then we reviewed tener with feelings and finished with the verb "to go" and places. Bobby formed sentences using the grammar we reviewed. During the 2nd hour, we began "el robot" - part 1. Bobby read in Spanish then translated into English. He identified new vocabulary and added words to his word bank. He also identified grammar constructions.

Nicole did an excellent job at reviewing grammar and creating sentences. We reviewed the 2 forms of the verb "to be" with adjectives. We also reviewed "tener". Nicole wrote out sentences from English to Spanish using the verbs and adjectives needed. She did very well. We began reading "Los Vampiros".

After a short grammar review, Bobby began reading and translating the story Los Vampiros. Unfortunately, Bobby did not do well as he was very distracted by the text messages on his cell phone. I asked him to put it away, but we are doing "virtual" learning, due to corona virus, so it is easy for him to put the cell phone "out of site". Bobby needs to reread the story and write out the new vocabulary words. He has all the activities that contain the vocabulary.

After a short grammar review, Bobby began reading and translating the story Los Vampiros. I would like to say he did well, but he spent so much time intercepting text messages on his cell phone that he lost the continuity of the story. I spoke to him several times about putting away his cell phone, but he kept saying he didn't have it and he wasn't paying attention to it. I however, heard it "ding" every time a message came through.
