Soccer
Lesson Outline
David did an amazing job today!

He stayed focused as we powered through a lot of content. We read the pages for which he was responsible last class. We cleaned up any misconceptions that he had about the content.

We covered the clothes involved in the soccer uniform.

We then moved on to the next set of vocabulary. There we focused on baseball, basketball, and tennis. We made connections amongst the vocabulary common to multiple sports.

Aventuras de Isabela
Lesson Outline
Kaitlin lead us through a joint effort review. I helped her to remember some of the finer details after our 3 day weekend.

We then read a couple of paragraphs from our supplemental text Las Aventuras of Isabella. We focused on rereading some of the paragraphs for which we had done literal translations prior to the break.

This time Kaitlin was asked questions in Spanish about the content of the paragraphs.

She was expected to respond in Spanish. She was able to eventually (with some support) answer each question in English.

We then reviewed the e-ie stem changing verbs. Kaitlin seemed much more comfortable this week with the material.

Gustar
Lesson Outline
Kaitlin quizzed herself on the second set of vocabulary for this chapter. She is much improved but should continue to study before her quiz. We then discussed verbs with a unique syntax like gustar, interesar, and aburrir. We discussed how we translate them into English. We discussed a more literal translation and how that translation can help us use the proper syntax.
