Arianna and I played a fun game to review numbers 11-20. I hung cute picture all around her room that had winter objects in groups of 11-20. She had to find them, count them, and then write the number on the coordinating picture. She really has grasped an understanding of these numbers now.

Gracyn and I reviewed her sight words. Today we focused on the sight word "help". Gracyn read the word, wrote the word, and used it in a sentence. Next we did a few reading and writing activities and we reviewed the "Wh" blend. Gracyn read the Penguin story again and today she read it fluently with just a few errors.
We competed her Arctic Animal Book and added describing words. Then she shared her book with classmates and of course Ms. Judie!

Arianna and I continued learning about higher numbers. First we reviewed numbers 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. Then I introduced 16 and 17. We played a game counting objects and labeling them as 16 or 17. I did notice when counting Arianna could skip the number 15. If you count with her, she would remember. We will continue to work on counting from 10-20. We completed her math sheet that focuses on numbers 16 and 17.

I introduced Gracyn to our new story, Penguins. We first did a picture walk and looked for challenging words. She wrote the challenging words on post its. We attached the post its to the pages. Now it was time for her to read the story. She used great strategies and connections to words that were challenging in the story. Next we got to work on her Arctic animal book. We cut the pictures out that she had printed in the last few weeks and attached them to blue background paper. Tomorrow we will put the book together.
