Then he did 2 with me sitting next him and lastly I stepped out of the room for him complete the 5th problem. I could hear him reading to himself aloud. When he got stuck he opened the door to ask for help. I helped him with 2 words. He then completed the problem independently and with 100% accuracy! Today Patrick completed his descriptive writing paper. He went through each structure card after reading his writing piece. He wanted to ensure he included at least one detail that pertained to all of his structure words. After doing so, he realized he didn't give his audience any kind of time (when) to visualize his story. He added this and made some minor changes. Patrick completed publishing this and has the choice to share with his peers. He is deciding how and when now he would like to do so. Great work!!

Addition Fluency
Lesson Outline
Patrick and I played a game of basketball "Around the World" with math facts. He really enjoyed this! It encourages fluency and ease of mental math. Then we came in and played a round of Yahtzee. This was a great experience to encourage simple addition fluency and double-digit addition. Every time Patrick wanted to know his score he had to add it up! Lastly, he completed 5 double-digit addition problems independently. I stepped outside of his room for him to complete his work. I really want to start building his sense of independence. It worked because he scored 100% and I know he was able to own that completely!
