Patrick was very well focused on the new material and the activity, making great conclusions.
Today Patrick continued in his FF program. He played two brain games. The second game may not have scored completely. We had exited and then entered the program Tomb Trek again. Patrick completed the activity on The Hiding Place story in his V/V book. He was able to recall the vocabulary terms and match them to their definitions correctly. Patrick identified the gestalt and was able to distinguish between details and the gestalt. Patrick responded to HOT questions. This took more time than usual, as he was expressing that he was tired from being up too late. He is working on his letter formation and proper spacing while writing. His responses were accurate and he was able to make inferences that were appropriate.
Patrick and I continued place value with ones and tens. He seems to be grasping the concept of tens and ones very well. Patrick traded ones for tens, modeled and read numbers using base-10 blocks. We also used 2 dice to roll a tens number, build it with base -10 blocks and then read the number. Successful day!
We started the day talking about the oceans of the world. I showed Patrick a map of the oceans and he noticed how much of the earth is covered by ocean waters. We used an interactive map to identify the oceans (Atlantic, Pacific, Indian Arctic and Southern Oceans). Patrick was seemed interested in wanting to know more about geography. We will move into continents after discovering the world's oceans. After that Patrick read his knew story Level D Why Can't I?

Patrick took very seriously the activity and his work during performing the experiment was an excellent job.
Today Patrick continued in his FF program. He did a great job in both games, Paint Match and Tomb Trek. In LB, Patrick worked on activity 16 in his V/V workbook. He discussed and is able to recall the vocabulary terms. He answered questions, sentence by sentence from the passage about the rock fish, correctly. He completed a picture summary for the story. Nice work, Patrick. Have a great weekend!
Patrick printed several pictures of the ocean. We studied them and developed a definition for oceans. Patrick will create a bodies of water and landform dictionary over the next several weeks.
