Patrick read and then re-read Birthday Party to work on decoding, and then to better his comprehension once his words were decoded. As we read, he made predictions and inferences. Patrick read short o words on frogs and classified them according to their word family; ot, og, op, ob. I noticed he mixed up his b and d almost 100% of the time. He took the same short o words and grouped them due to if they are a noun or verb. Patrick continued drafting his writing about his dogs. He worked on applying every sound in his writing, and make his writing clear so it makes sense to his reader.
Patrick earned an 86 B or 22/25 points on his test. After his test, he worked on a pumpkin patch activity that required him to only allow one of each colored pumpkin in a row and column at the same time. He manipulated them around on a tic tac toe board, moving them if he discovers that there is more than one in the same row or column. vocab=row, column
Today in V/V Patrick did his first sentence by sentence activity. I read aloud three sentences to him about a lizard. He created imagery for all them. He used his structure words to verbalize what he had pictured. He provided a gestalt. Patrick also began work from his workbook. He listened to a story about firemen and answered questions which assisted him in creating mental images. He did a wonderful job and I look forward to seeing him show improvement.

Patrick is always great participant during class debate.
Patrick continued to do a great job in keyboarding. He told me he practiced at home, which is great! He is working on Level 4, and completing Stage 4- a review and practicing the location of . and / keys. Patrick continued his FF program. Please see weekly report this coming weekend. In V/V Patrick worked in the Word Imaging step, but embarked on a new part where after verbalizing his imagery of a known noun- Miss Judie's dog, Peroda, he worked on single sentence imaging. The goal of this step is to develop visualizing and verbalizing for a sentence. This step leads to sentence by sentence imaging.
