Will did a great job with fastforword today. He had a little trouble with the fill in the blanks, but once we went over some of the words again, he didn't miss them a second time. I'm very pleased with his reading. He seems to have less problems with those questions than before.
Maya continued in her FF program. She played three brain games. We had some time left over and Maya was well prepared to take her test on Topic 11 in math. She finished quickly and scored a 100. Super work, Miss Maya!
Will did very well with Fast ForWord today. I was very pleased with his focus, and that he stopped to think about his choices and ask questions. He did especially well with the reading exercise.
Today during our session Patrick completed 3 fast forward topics. He did Bedtime Besties, which required him to determine the missing word in the sentence. He received 192 points on this activity. Then he completed the Bear Bag lesson. This required Patrick to determine the begin sounds of different words. He earned 218 points on this activity. Lastly, he worked on Magic Bunny. This activity required Patrick to change the initial and final sounds of different words. He received 190 point on this activity. He was focused and on task during his lesson today.
Today Will completed activities which required him to determine the proper punctuation with possessives, contractions, citing play and book titles, and quotation marks just to name a few. He then proceeded to an activity in which he needed to determine which of the four combined sentences matched the two sentences presented. Finally, he completed a spelling activity.
Will had another good day with fastforword. In the fill in the blank exercise, he really slowed down and took the time to think about the meaning of each word before making his choice. Even better was that when he missed one, we went over the meaning, and when the same word came up again, he didn't repeat his mistake. Also, I think he finally understands a suffix, and how it changes a word.
Will had one of his best days with spelling today. He needed very little help with most of the words, and really slowed down and took his time. He also did very well combining sentences.
Patrick played several games and practiced the following elements of language and reading: language comprehension, following directions, phonemic awarenesss. He distinguished between and sequenced sounds, and identified the target word while listening to and reading a series of related words. He distinguished between beginning and ending sounds.
Will did pretty well on the fill in the blank exercise, but he continued to have problems with the parts of speech drill. Event hough we've gone over them multiple times, he still claims he's never learned these things before. For some reason, he has a very hard time remembering details like that.
