Lesson Outline
Anna: Song The Juggler, and C major scale.
Quinn: E, A, and D chords - Happy Birthday song

Quinn and Anna both did great in class. We need to work with Anna on note recognition and confidence when playing rhythms. She had a great attitude and played her song well with a little coaching. My goal is for her to be able to play confidently on her own. Quinn's chords sound great, and we need to work on smoothly and accurately changing from one chord to the next.

Russian Pattern Mixed Media and Cardboard City
Lesson Outline
Today Anna started painting her circle motif. Anna started by dividing the circle into equal segments like a pizza pie. In each segment, Anna drew objects inspired by the traditional Russian patterns. After each segment contained a sketch, Anna started to paint them in.

Today Quinn looked into new projects to begin. Using Pinterest, Quinn researched making cardboard houses and bridges. Quinn then drew out three house facades on cardboard and started to color them in. Quinn will create several three dimensional buildings out of cardboard to create a city scene that his cars can drive through.

Moody Cow Meditates; mind jars
Lesson Outline
Today we read the book "Moody Cow Meditates" and we then made "mind jars" or meditation jars. We took glitter glue and glitter and mixed it with water in a jar, and shook it. The glitter symbolized all our thoughts…. sometimes angry, happy, mixed-up, etc. But then the glitter settles, as we watch it, and our thoughts are settled. Both Anna and Quinn seemed to really enjoy the book and our yoga project today. The last 10 minutes of class was free play in the dojo.
