Reading short stories and answering comprehension questions. We also read a mystery and identified the problem, clues and solution. They both did their typing program practice and we worked on reading sight words.
Subtract three digit numbers using a standard algorithm. Students will understand that the standard subtraction algorithm for three digit numbers breakers the calculation into simpler calculations using place value starting with the ones, then the tens, and then the hundreds.

Anna- TTRS typing- Anna read a book and made a mini book by summarizing it. I am so proud of Anna's writing!
Quinn-TTRS typing- Quinn read a fantasy story we discussed the genre. He made predictions and read to check them. His reading is getting so much smoother.
I presented a lesson on the origination of the American flag. Anna and Quinn started to create their own American flags to add to their American symbols project.
Anna: F major scale, new song: Big Ships; Quinn: C and G chords, chord accompaniment to Big Ships.

Quinn: Quinn's chords are sounding very good. We are still working on getting the changes between chords smooth and accurate. He has shown great improvement over the past several weeks.
Anna: Anna had another emotional breakdown while trying to play her song. I had her continue to try even though she was crying the whole time, but she was able to eventually make it through the whole song.
We played number bingo with Lucy and Ruby. Anna and Quinn each took turns calling the numbers. After bingo, we read some books - Lucy and Ruby each read a book to Anna and Quinn.
Students make a bean soup from own grown beans. Discuss about nutrition facts for beans(teach how to use the table with nutrition facts on the bag), carrots, garlic and anions. Discuss how calcium is impotant for the bones and iron for blood.
