Anna- Wilson- Spelling 3 syllable words. Anna did very well with this and she had the most confidence I have seen in a while! I am so proud of her! She struggled a bit with some of the blends.
Quinn- Wilson- Spelling welded words. Quinn worked hard and is slowly grasping this concept.
The first part of the class was spent finishing up the Valentines project. But once we got back to their room, Anna and Quinn got right on task. We had a the game set up and were playing in near-record time, and I was extremely pleased with some of their decisions. They have the moves of each piece down solidly, and are now starting to pay attention to their options.
Explore and predict how an oil spill can harm animals. Discuss ways habitats can be destroyed. Understand how can we help to protect the water and air and land. Vocabulary: pollution, recycle. Extra time: research when the first chocolate was invented.

Quinn was not focused on our class debates and didn't work with his full capacity.
Use different methods to help them solve addition problems. Students will understand that all sums and differences can be found using models(cubes). Some calculations are done easily using mental math or paper and pencils. More complex calculations can be done using a calculator.

Anna was focused on the instructions and she understood the lesson very well, so she had time for the extra enrichment worksheet.
Quinn's performance was very poor today. He had hard time to be focused on the instructions and asked for help all the time. With the help he completed the assignments.
Anna and Quinn wrote friendly letters today. Anna struggled with coming up with the ideas of what to write. Quinn was very careful not to come up with too many ideas because he did not want to have to write too much. When I told him I would type it he had a lot to say!

Quinn: Very good job when we reviewed the song Buffalo Gals. His rhythm is improving. We are working on correcting his hand position a little and trying to get better note clarity throughout the full range of the C chord.
Anna: Anna did very well on the song Air. Rhythm is really improving and she played this song with confidence. When we introduced the new song with the hand position change, she had a major meltdown and cried for quite a while. I still made her play the new song anyway and she did fine with it. She finally calmed down and made it through the whole song.

Anna, Quinn and I discussed the Plains and they added the Plains to their Habitat booklet. They recorded animals and plants found in the Plains. We reviewed the 3 major mountain ranges, continents and oceans.
