We reviewed the term geography and the definition. I put up a map of the United States on Anna and Quinn's wall. They wrote the word "peninsula" in their social studies folders as well as "There are 7 continents." We studied the United States map and looked at Florida. I introduced the term peninsula and we looked at the map for peninsulas. I drew a Compass Rose and we played a game with the map and the compass. We also played "State Hangman."

Lesson Comments
Anna: Anna is doing great with her C major scale. She is able to play right and left hands separately, ascending and descending. When we tried to play both hands together, she was able to do it slowly the first time, but became frustrated on subsequent attempts and started to cry. We shifted to playing hr new song, Good King Wenceslas, and she did very well on that. We will try the two hand scale again next class.

Quinn: Quinn is doing very well with making his chords. We still have some timing issues in that he will strum either too fast or too slow at times during a song. I will try making him count aloud as he is strumming.
