Lucas did an excellent job with this dish. He's now mastered making rice on the stove top and displayed improved understanding of spices and how to achieve maximum flavor when seasoning the dish and building the aromatic base. He also did a great job with the yogurt sauce, tasting and adjusting multiple times until he was happy. Everything came out delicious, despite Lucas being a bit skeptical of the peas getting mixed in with the meat

PJ and I reviewed last weeks plan for twice baked potatoes and decided to stick with it for this week. We had a good conversation going over the ingredients and steps in greater detail. We then watched a great video about the history of hamburgers and how they've evolved through the decades. PJ was very interested by the subtle differences between the various burgers and we had some great discussions about how certain burgers would compare to one another.

We talked about quite a few different options but eventually came back to twice baked potatoes. PJ really enjoys making mashed potatoes so the idea of making what are essentially cheesy mashed potatoes and then baking them inside of a potato skin and adorning with a variety of toppings was particularly appealing.

Nico had a blast with this meal. He had requested we make spaghetti and garlic bread, but he was surprised to see that we were making our own sauce. He was very curious about the process and asked great questions throughout. He did an excellent job chopping the onions and garlic for the sauce and was particularly excited to make the garlic bread.
