Lesson Comments
Max prefers conversations to reading or writing, which I support, since we have just a few lessons for now, and my goal is for Max to enjoy the language, and to feel encouraged and motivated to bring his fluency in Russian closer to his fluency in English and French.
Continuing conversation in Russian, discussing books that Max loves to read: Jules Verne Around the World in Eighty Days, etc...
Max was telling me about his friends in school who spoke Russian, and how they like to use Russian so nobody would understand them, and how much fun it would be...
Repeating the names of the months since Max has been confusing them, writing them down, and finding similarities with the English names of the months to make it easier to remember...

Lesson Comments
Productive lesson with interesting conversations in Russian, using more complicated phraseology and grammatical forms.
Max seemed to enjoy the lesson.
Max chose a Super Mario in a jump pose for his clay sculpture design. I had Max print out the design and I helped him create the armature. Once the armature was complete, I gave Max a piece of tin foil to create the head of his character. Max used the same process to create the torso of his character. We softened some clay and covered all the placed tin foil. We worked together to refine the shape of the character to make it look 3 dimensional.
First we worked on converting percentages to fractions in simplest form. Then we practiced converting fractions and decimals to percentages. Next we worked on the distributive property of multiplication which states that when a number is multiplied by the sum of two numbers, the first number can be distributed to both of those numbers and multiplied by each of them separately, then adding the two products together for the same result as multiplying the first number by the sum. Max became proficient at converting fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Lesson Comments
It was a great joy to meet Max, who is an incredibly smart, sweet and a very social person.
Since it was our very first meeting we needed to establish the areas that needed more attention, as well as finding out what Max enjoys about learning Russian, and what he dislikes.
I believe the lesson was productive, and we accomplished a lot.
Max and I positioned his character to resemble that of the reference image. Max placed clay on the legs and feet. Max used the reference image to create the correct sizing. I worked with Max to create the face for the character.
