Teddy and I viewed an academic app on science about prey and predator. He was reminded that that animals that are hunted and eaten by another for food are predators. We cited some examples. I then asked Teddy to review previously acquired vocabulary words that he created on a chart in his room which included: talons, perch, raptor predator, prey, and habitat. Verbal prompts facilitated Teddy's recall skills and his overall performance in a matching task. He was, however, able to tell me what he had found in an owl pellet.

I subbed for Barbara this morning, Monday 1-13-25, from 11:21 - 12:06.
Colson read about camouflage and mimicry. We discussed camouflage and mimicry in the photos of a snake, caterpillar and pelican. He completed Collect Evidence C "How do adaptations affect organisms?" He completed The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection lesson review.
Libby completed her interactive calendar. She read and discussed all her vocabulary words. She put together her daily sentence puzzle. She assembled her STEM project, a battery-operated bubble machine.
Teddy completed his interactive calendar. He put together his daily sentence puzzle. He read all his vocabulary words. He assembled his battery-operated bubble machine.
Chris completed labeling his flower anatomy diagram and watched a video on flower anatomy. He recorded the definitions of the anatomical terms. We dissected a flower and identified the different parts of the reproductive anatomy.
Aiden completed Collect Evidence A "What properties does light share with other waves?" He read the scientific text "Using the Electromagnetic Spectrum" and we discussed.
Colson completed the lab "Survival of the Fittest" where he created a paper camouflaged moth to model how an organism's variations, adaptations can lead to its survival and eventual reproduction.
PJ worked on an activity sheet reviewing his integration of material previously discussed - primarily examples representing biotic and abiotic classifications and life processes such as movement, respiration, sensitivity and nutrition. He also filled in definitions of biosphere, ecosystem population, community, and organism and levels of the aforementioned systems, such as organism, organ system, organ tissue, and cell. PJ completed his work in a timely fashion.

I subbed for Teresa this morning, Friday, 1-10-25 form 9:47 - 10:32.
Aiden read about the properties of light, energy and brightness. He read the scientific text "Using the Electromagnetic Spectrum" and we discussed. He underlined evidence on whether or not electromagnetic waves need a medium to travel through. He constructed an explanation on whether electromagnetic waves require a medium.
