We sang the song of how the vowels laugh and the sounds they make. Also, we were able to recognize vowels from consonants and circle them with colors. We really love how vowels laugh!
Loulie and I recited 'Liitle Bo Peep' and then put together a book of the rhyme. She helped me sequence the sentences in the rhyme and we taped them onto the wall. Next, we looked for words that began with the same sounds as Loulie and Pat. She was able to find 'lost', 'leave' and 'Peep'. We played a yes/no game of listening for those beginning sounds and then sorted pictures into the correct sound category. Loulie counted our alphabet letters to be sure we had all of them and then we played a letter hide and seek game.
Loulie and I began by singing and dancing to our fun count to 20 song. Together, we played a game of number memory in which number symbols had to be matched to the correct quantity while sharpening memory skills. Each card had either a number or a star. We took turns flipping over two cards to try to match the given number to the correct amount of stars. Finally, Loulie determined the missing number within a sequence of numbers starting from any given number up to 10.
Today Loulie learned about science tools. We talked about what a science tool is and why we use them in science. We looked at a hand lens, a microscope, and a pan balance and discussed how each one is used and what it is used for. We talked about how science tools are not toys and should be treated with care. She did a sort where I showed her pictures of different objects and she had to decide if the objects were toys or tools. Some of the pictures were a soccer ball, a teddy bear, a microscope, and a kite. She had to sort the pictures under the heading of tools or toys. She also did an activity with the hand lens where she had regular size pictures of construction trucks and tiny pictures of the same truck. She looked at the tiny picture first with her eyes and then with the hand lens and had to match it up with the regular size picture. We also practiced using the microscope and looking at different objects under it. She made observations about what she could see with the microscope that she couldn't see with just her eyes.
Loulie and I made number towers and compared numbers to 14. We found missing numbers in sequenced sets of 3 numbers up to 20. For visual discrimination she found the object in a set of three that was different and described the difference. We read 'Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog' and noticed how the illustrations told the story. We also talked about how the two main characters sound so different as they speak their parts. We sang 'Alligators All Around' as we pointed to each letter in her alphabet wall chart.
Louile and I went over the routine consisting of going over the alphabet (song version), months of the year, days of the week, today's date & weather.
We emphasized the letter M and read a book about Music and Fun (Musica y Diversion). We practiced with words that begin with the letter M & with the use of playdoh, Loulie practiced the motion of writing the word M on paper.
We engaged in our arts & craft project where Louile and I created a set of maracas that we used in our fun dance and singing session.

Louile engaged beautifully in the class of Music & Fun and in the activity specially prepared for her. She is been encouraged to reply to the me in spanish and inviting her to imitate the sound of letters that need improving.
Today Loulie and I made a batch of Chocolate Chip Brownie Tarts. We started with mixing up some chocolate chip cookie dough to make the tart shell. Well the dough was firming up in the refrigerator we made the brownie filling. We started with melting butter and whisking in sugar, cocoa, vanilla and flour. Next, we divided the cookie dough into 12 even portions and pressed them into the prepared muffin tin to form the tart shell. We then poured the brownie filling into each shell and baked them for 12 minutes. They turned out just perfect with a firm shell and a gooey brownie center. We finished class with Loulie handing the tarts out to her friends.
Today we sang the Buenos dias song. Also, we sang Cabeza, Ombros, Rodillas, Pies song, and reviewed the vowels. We went over the sounds of A,E,I, O&U and did some exercises by circling the words that begin with each vowel sound.

Today we did great for the first 45 minutes, then the last 15 she said she was too tired because Daddy had woken her up early. But overall, great job!
Today Loulie began with a review of her five senses. She did an activity where we popped some popcorn and she had to use each sense to describe it. First, she watched the popcorn pop and she observed what was happening. As it was popping, she listened and described what she was hearing. As it popped more she began to smell it and described what she was smelling. When it was done, she felt a piece and described what it felt like and then ate some popcorn and described its taste. She drew a picture of her oberservations under each sense and I wrote her observations down next to her pictures. After that, we went outside and did a leaf collection. We used leaves and Legos to do measuring, sorting, comparing, and observing activities. She measured the leaves and Legos first with paper clips and then with a ruler. We discussed how objects can be the same in some ways but different in others and she compared them by their color and shape, and she sorted leaves in groups based on their size and color. She built a boat with the Legos and we observed the boat using the five senses. We used construction paper and labeled each with a science skill. She glued the leaves she had compared, sorted, and measured to each piece of paper.
