We went over PJ's spelling homework. He read and discussed today's stories, "The Automation Paradox, and "Heads Up Humans." We examined what a paradox is, and how the title of this story reflects the meaning of the word. These two stories present differing arguments about the impact of technology on jobs. We discussed how they supported their claims with evidence.

Pj wrote his spelling words and their definitions. He learned some history about Elizabeth Barrett Browning and her "Sonnet 43." The poem we read and discussed today, "Interflora," was written by Susan Hamlyn as a modern-day riff on Barrett's "Sonnet 43." We compared and contrasted the two poems. He completed an activity identifying completed predicates and complete subjects.
