Today we logged in to Office 365 and used Outlook to send an email. We then played chess online against the computer on Chess.com to build mouse and keyboard skills.

Today we used the computer to play chess to build mouse and keyboard skills. Mouse skills required are left clicking while dragging and releasing at the right time. Keyboard requires selecting game type and picture of representative for the game. The game builds skills for protecting and attacking requiring thinking ahead.

Mercer enjoyed playing chess on the computer, which helps to improve mouse control, keyboard skills, and manage problems simultaneously. After our initial 30 minutes, we moved to the lunch room to continue the lesson. Judie then asked to meet with Mercer for the remainder of our session.

Ben is building keyboard and mouse skills and practicing the login process for Office 365. Today he worked on email and PowerPoint files.

Ben is getting better each session but needs to continue to develop keyboard skills (using shift keys and finding keys for symbols). Each time we login he gets better and he seems to enjoy learning. Today we actually played a chess game online part of the time, which helped him with mouse and keyboard skills as well.

Today Hank built more skills navigating through Microsoft Office by creating an additional PowerPoint file. He typed in a title, changed the fonts, and selected a background style for the presentation. He also imported pictures of buildings and we uploaded the file to Teams.

Hank is showing good progress with basic computer skills and is developing an intuitive sense as to how things work as we move around. He appears to be accessing his Office 365 account from home and is gaining skills from there too.
