Today we looked over several current events pertaining to India and the crisis they are experiencing. We talked about how a large population can have pros and cons on an economy, as well as their imports and exports.
We watched CNN10's report of the events that occurred at the Capitol yesterday. A discussion of the events was used as a springboard to talk about civic duty and values. We talked about the importance of both the civic duties and values.

We discussed what a veteran is, why Veteran's Day is celebrated and the five branches of the armed forces. Dutch was tasked with filling in the missing words in a text about Veteran's Day. He wrote an acrostic poem utilizing the word veteran. Additionally, we watched CNN10 which delivered news about the progress on a coronavirus vaccine, Tropical Storm Eta and the controversy around prescribed or controlled burning. The news and its impact was discussed.

We finished up the film, and also spent time discussing the current political situation, counting electoral votes to determine who needs which states to win, etc.
Dutch and I watched CNN10 to learn updated information about the Presidential election and Hurricane Eta. The Electoral College process and function were described. The effects and path of Hurricane Eta were also discussed.
Cabo listened to the transcript from CNN10. It talked about the spread of the Coronavirus possibly slowing down in New York and whether or not the virus can be spread through cooked food. We discussed, from a statistical point of view, whether or not the spread of Covid 19 in New York might be slowing down. We also discussed known and unknown factors that might affect the number of known cases of the Coronavirus in New York. Additionally, we watched a brief video on the USNS Mercy, a hospital ship that serves as a referral hospital for non Covid 19 patients.
